Roaming tips
For an easy, hassle-free roaming experience with Africell, just follow the tips below.
When you arrive at your destination, restart your phone by switching it off and on again (do not use Airplane Mode). A few general tips:
Network: if the network does not appear automatically, select it manually in your phone’s network settings.
Internet: to stay connected while roaming, make sure Data Roaming and Mobile Data are switched on and that the APN settings are correct (APN: INTERNET).
Dual SIM: make sure the right SIM card is selected. If you do not want to use data roaming, make sure Data Roaming is switched off.
Calls: when making calls, dial in international format (for example, +244 for Angola).
If you have any problem while roaming, call +244 950 180 123 and tell us your location, your mobile number and a description of the problem.
The call rate from the country you are visiting to Angola will apply.
2• The 5 or 10 minutes given after purchasing Combo Roaming 14 and Monthly Bundles can only be used for calling any number in the visited country or calls back to Angola.
3• After the exhaustion of the bundle benefit, subsequent activities will be charged at normal roaming rates.
4• Calling other destinations will be billed at normal roaming rates no matter if the customer has bundle minutes or not.
5• Receiving calls is not included in the minutes the combo bundles give.

2• Does it mean I cannot enjoy these Roaming Bundles on another network apart from the networks mentioned above?
Yes
3• How do I roam on these specified network
By doing manual network search on your handset and select either of this networks Africell DRC, Africell Serra Leone and Africell Gambia.
4• What are the benefits of roaming packages?
Roaming packages can be used for
• Data bundles can only be use for data while roaming
5• Which customers are eligible to use the roaming packages?
The package is currently available only to prepaid customers.
6• How do I subscribe for these Roaming Bundles?
Dial *800# and select menu option 1 to subscribe to the roaming package. Subscribe whilst in Angola or after arriving in the country.
7• How will I know my subscription is successful?
A notification will be received after subscribing
8• How can I check my Roaming Bundle balance?
By dialing *800*2#
9• Can I use the minutes to call any destination?
These minutes is only for local calls within visited countries and calls back to Angola.
10• What will happen if I call other destinations?
Calling other destinations will be charged outside the bundle at normal roaming rates.
11• Are the SMS included in the Roaming package only for the countries visited and for Angola?
No. Any SMS sent will be deducted from your Combo bundle.
12• What will happen if I exhaust my roaming bundle for Voice, SMS or Data?
You will be charged at normal roaming rates for any services you want to enjoy
13• Will I be able to activate Roaming bundles while abroad?
Yes, customers will be able to activate the roaming package whether they are at home or abroad. You just need to make sure you have sufficient balance.
14• Do I have to activate the Roaming Bundle plan before I roam?
No. Activation can be done before or while roaming. Once there is sufficient credit, the customer can just dial the appropriate code for the bundle they want.
15• How do I cancel my Roaming Bundle plan?
The plan cannot be canceled after activation. It is a use or forfeit bundle.
16• How will I know that my plan has expired?
Customers will receive a SMS notification 7 days, 3 days and 1 day before the plan expires informing of the expiry of the plan.
17• What will happen to my remaining minutes after the plan expires?
Once the bundle has expired all unused balance will be lost. Customers will be charged at the regular roaming rates for subsequent calls.
18• Can I buy additional Roaming Bundle when I have an existing one?
YES, the benefits are cumulative, and the date of the last activation will be considered.
